Owner + Designer + Restorer

“Be transparent, open, honest, and above all, fair.”

Expanding my life beyond my small town of Checotah has always been a drive of mine. Appreciating my hometown but knowing there was so much the world had to offer … Well I was and am willing to experience it all.

Some of my first experiences with tools and handiwork was in my dad’s shop. My three younger brothers and I spent many hours learning and repairing our vehicles with our dad.

Biology … Exercise … Lighting Repair?

My education and career path a vastly different. I have an Associates and Bachelors degree in biology and continued my education and received my Masters Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Central Oklahoma. Nothing to do with lighting repair, right? But as I was going through my Bachelors, I was offered a job moving heavy chandeliers for a well known lighting company in the OKC metro area, Lillian Stickler Lighting. I was immediately enveloped in the rewiring and restoration of antique lighting. I discovered my true passion through this experience.

Since then, I have gained over 7 years of experience in rewiring, restoring and designing lighting fixtures. The most popular question I get when talking about my education and career path difference is WHY? I have struggled with this question every day for the past 3 years. Choosing a career path that your degrees don’t support can be a scary and humbling endeavor so I think the biggest thing is that this field of work fulfilled my sense of purpose more than anything else I have worked in before.

Passion to bring happiness to others.

Seeing customers eyes light up when you completely restore a beloved fixture or lamp that has been in their family for a long time just feels amazing. Having your work be important and having businesses, clients, and designers truly appreciate your craft is the most worthwhile pursuit I can think of. Being proud of your own work and getting to create and help customers achieve their desired look and outcome on their fixture is a huge perk.

In this line of work I think that the customer to business relationship is very crucial and I love how it allows me to develop a closer relationship with clients than one would get in a bigger commercial setting. I also have a personal vendetta to make this line of work more known with larger businesses throughout the OKC/Tulsa metro area. Also, there is no better business card than customer satisfaction and the quality of work that your business is known for.
